The "Legislation and Taxation Committee" is a standing advisory committee created by the LWCC Board of Directors. It shall consist of residents of the Community, representatives of Leisure World organizations, and management. Members are recommended by the president of each Mutual and appointed by the Chair of the Leisure World Board of Directors. The Committee shall: review and advise the Leisure World Board of Directors on proposed or pending federal, state and county legislation which may affect the Leisure World community. The Committee shall: monitor and advise the Leisure World Community Corporation, Board of Directors on zoning changes submitted by the developer or others in the Leisure World area which may affect the Leisure World Community. The Committee shall: monitor and advise the LWCC Board of Directors on other actions proposed by, or to, public authorities which may have an impact on the Community, including court decisions, opinions of the Maryland State Attorney General, etc. The Committee shall: review the Community’s Strategic Plan and submit semi-annual reports to the Chairman, outlining the committee’s status regarding the Community’s Strategic Plan; summarizing the committee’s accomplishments during the report period; and recommending areas of improvement and goals for the future. |
