The "Emergency Preparedness Committee" is a standing advisory committee created by the Leisure World Community Corporation Board of Directors. It shall consist of residents of the Community and representatives of management. Members are recommended by the President of each Mutual and appointed by the Chair of the Leisure World Board of Directors. The Committee shall: advise the Leisure World Community Corporation Board of Directors and Management, as appropriate, on matters relating to emergency preparation. The Committee shall: review and formulate, in conjunction with the various associations, a plan for the Leisure World community, of actions to be taken in case of natural or catastrophic emergencies. The Committee shall: publicize emergency preparedness information applicable to individual residents and the Trust. The Committee shall: interface with representatives of the Montgomery County Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and American Red Cross Society concerning preparation and recommendations in the case of an catastrophic emergency. The Committee shall: coordinate with state and local government to provide training to volunteers for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, or any other similar programs. The Committee shall: coordinate with the Security and Transportation, Health and Strategic Planning Advisory Committees and other organizations to develop recommendations and strategies in the event of an emergency. The Committee shall: review the community's Strategic Plan and prepare semi-annual reports to the Board Chairman outlining the committee's status regarding the Strategic Plan; summarizing the committee's accomplishments during the report period; and recommending areas of improvement and goals for the future. |
