LEISURE WORLD MEDICAL CENTER
Introduction
The Leisure World Medical Center building is held in trust by the Leisure World Community Corporation for the benefit and use of Leisure World residents. The building is approximately 28,000 square feet in size. Approximately 8,000 square feet of space is located on the second floor of the building. Approximately 75 percent of the second floor is leased to Atlantic Physical Therapy. The remaining space is available for future use.
There are approximately 25 physicians under contract with the Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC). The physicians are not employed by LWMC; they are outside contractors. The support staff (managers, administrative, nursing) are employees of LWMC.
The hours of operation are as follows:
Clinic Operation
Triage Nurse – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
MGH Lab – 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed for lunch 1 to 2 p.m.)
Atlantic Physical Therapy – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
Physician Hours – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday

Below is a brief description of the services provided at the Center:
Physician Services
The clinic is a multi-specialty medical office practice. Six primary care physicians interact with specialists in cardiology, rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, gynecology, psychiatry, oncology, ophthalmology, and podiatry to provide comprehensive care. Most physicians are board certified. Services available to all residents include ADA-recognized Diabetes Self-Management Course and Bone Density Studies. Medicare assignment is accepted. Laboratory services are provided by Montgomery General Hospital. Physical therapy is provided by Atlantic Physical Therapy.
Nursing Services
A nurse is available weekdays for telephone advice, non-emergency walk-in services and home visits. (There is a charge for walk-in and home services.)
Dental Office
Experienced dentists offer general dental care, restoration and implant services. Hygiene services are available daily.
Pharmacy
Professional pharmacists provide personalized prescription services and consultation to residents. Many insurance plans are accepted. Delivery service is available.
Social Work
Social workers provide information about resources that help residents maintain their ability to live independently, as well as information about assisted living, adult day care, nursing homes and advanced directives.
Lifeline
The coordinator for Lifeline Emergency Response System will assist in installation of this service in residents’ homes. A button that is worn around the neck or wrist will, when pressed, alert the Main Gate that a resident needs assistance.
